Since 2018, Two Fox Farms has worked with area residents to divert organic waste. The small family farm leverages the vast potential of food waste by converting it into nutrient rich compost for its fields and gardens or organic feed supplement for its pastured pork production.
In April 2021, the Two Fox team launched Two Fox Compost, a grassroots community-focused diversion network that empowers local residents and businesses to divert organic waste. The Two Fox Compost hauler operation collects organic waste, food scraps, coffee grounds and other materials in and around Hartwick, NY and the Village of Cooperstown, NY. To date, Two Fox Farm’s diversion efforts have kept 11,500 pounds of organic waste out of the landfill.
