The Ameraucana was developed in the 1970’s in attempts to standardize the Araucana breed. Considered a new and improved version of the Araucana these colorful birds produce beautiful blue/green eggs.
Color: Black, Blue, Blue Wheaten, Brown Red, Buff, Silver, Wheaten, and White. Colors being worked on include Lavender, Splash, Splash Wheaten, Mottled, Salmon, Red Pyle and Black Gold
Character: Like the variety of colors, Ameraucana’s can be anything from friendly to flighty, calm to aggressive. You never know what you’re going to get.
Eggs: Beautiful blue/green, medium sized eggs.
